What is Digital Mobile Radio?

Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) is an open digital radio standard defined by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). It uses Time-Division Multiple Access (TDMA) technology, which allows two simultaneous conversations to occur on a single 12.5 kHz channel by splitting the transmission into two distinct time slots.
DMR is a very popular mode and a lot of repeaters can be found throughout the country.
